The Drawing Class that is coming up is not designed to be a fine art success class. It is designed to be a building "fine motor skills" and follow directions page.
It's about creating success, and learning a lot of terms, in context; PLUS learning to draw, create and color.
Above, below, a long line, a short line, a curved line. And sentences like "I am going to draw it twice for you. The first time on the BIG page, and the second time on the smaller page like you have at home."
What happens when your child follows along, is they have success drawing a picture they can show you, and you can tell what it is they have drawn. A circle becomes a head, a square a body, some lines a skirt etc.
But they also learn some skills like where the arms go, where the legs go, what does the side of a face look like (we don't need two eyes) and more.
There are 22 lessons total, and it's a lot of fun!
AND then once your child draws their character of the day (could be a cowboy, a ballerina, an astronaut there's a new one each day) and they color it; you take a picture of it, and upload it on their own portfolio page for the class. From there I can see it, and give feedback!
A grade? A score? NOPE, instead they get to hear they did a great job, and a comments about their actual drawing. "Wow I like what you did there with the orange hat!"
Here's where the fun engagement comes in, your child sees me showing them how, but unlike other videos they get to come along for the fun, give it a try and hear back from their teacher.
Materials you will need at home are blank drawing paper and crayons.
Until next time, take care of you!
