This is a question that comes up - and let's answer it. First of all let me say that personally I like ABC Mouse, when it's used WITH the parent nearby, or participating, as an extra, a fun add on.
Because they have a lot of colors, graphics, animation, and clickable links, it can be overwhelming to new users and preschoolers. And there are other apps that are more intuitive. PLUS kids often want to skip to the gaming part, instead of the learning part.
Having multiple options can make it hard for children to focus on one activity.
Instead we are a 30 minute format, designed to guide learning in that day, and followed up with actual time with the teacher. The person they are watching on the screen, during the recorded teaching time is the same person responding to their work that they upload.
Do they get to hit a button and win a pretend prize to decorate their pretend bedroom? NOPE
BUT they do get a chance to learn how to do something, do it, and then display it in their actual home.
Until next time, take care of you!
