Today a behind the scenes look at Over The Bay Pre-K, and our character profiles book. There is a master book, it's a small, spiral bound, red notebook and it has a page for each classroom character. And it also has details about the characters as they are introduced.
This helps build them in with a consistent story, and continuity. And YES kids remember! For example Rupert (the purple classroom puppet) LOVES to swing. And Elmer the Elephant loves the color green as his favorite ice cream. Notice that is color and not flavor.
Having classroom buddies, that are built overtime with likes, dislikes, and certain characteristics allows the imagination of the child to really engage with the lessons, and the characters they are seeing. Also it's a nice way to hopefully see themselves in some of them too.
Until next time, take care of you!
